Choosing the right supplement bottle and closure

HDPE or PET, white or amber, 38mm or 53mm — what actually matters.

By Veronica Bhasin, Project Manager at Vita Warehouse

The bottle is the most visible part of your pack, and it affects shelf life, shipping cost and how your label reads.

Material

HDPE is opaque, tough and a strong moisture barrier — a familiar choice for capsules. PET is clear and glossy, ideal when you want the product visible, like colorful gummies.

Color

Amber protects light-sensitive ingredients. White gives labels a clean, bright background. Clear lets the product sell itself.

Size and neck

Match the bottle to the fill with sensible headspace. Neck size (38mm, 45mm, 53mm) decides the closure and how easy the product is to pour or scoop.

Closures

Choose continuous-thread or child-resistant depending on your product and market, with an induction seal for tamper evidence.
